Mending family ties through love and care

The recent political situation in Hong Kong has caused division among family members. HKSKH Welfare Council Service Director Tam Chi-kwan recounted her own experience of how to mend family ties over mid-autumn festival dinner.

She reminded readers that people need not be pressured to solve their problems immediately because they would suffer from depression when they could not achieve quick results. They have to believe that love is the foundation of families, and that is why having a meal together can help take down the walls erected between family members. She believed that to mend family ties, people need to discover and renew love among family members, while compromise or putting aside one's views come only secondary.
