Compass Rose Society Hong Kong chapter calls for donation to Sri Lanka
Publish Date: 25-May-2021
Many countries are facing difficult challenges as COVID-19 ravages the world. Sri Lanka is an example where the state’s health system and economy are on the verge of total collapse but its situation was not widely reported in the media. Brother Michael Saminathan from the Anglican Society of St. Francis wrote to the Most Revd Andrew Chan, Archbishop and Primate of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, and to the Very Revd Samson Fan, Dean of All Saints’ Cathedral who is also the vice-president of the Compass Rose Society, for support. In view of the pandemic situation in Sri Lanka, Archbishop Chan has already donated a grant to the Society of St. Francis Trust from HKSKH Archbishop World Relief Fund. The Hong Kong Chapter of the Compass Rose Society also appealed to parishioners to donate generously to the cause. Parishioners can write a cheque to Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui and send it to the Church’s Provincial Office in 16/F, Tung Wai Commercial Building, 109-111 Gloucester Road, Wanchai. On the back of the cheque, please write down your name, contact details and the state: “Compass Rose HK Chapter Sri Lanka Fund Raising Campaign”. The Hong Kong chapter of Compass Rose Society will send all donations to the Society of St. Francis Trust after Trinity Sunday (30 May).
