St James’ Settlement creates prepackaged tender foods for the elderly

St James’ Settlement has introduced Graceful Meal, a series of prepackaged tender foods targetting elderly who suffer from dysphagia. It offers a wider choice outside the usual minced foods or gruel. The first volume consists of eight flavours: carrots, Chinese cabbage, bok choi, tofu, beef, pork, chicken, and fish. Graceful Meal has a mousse-like texture and is rich in fibres, which is beneficial to the digestive system. One cup each of meat-flavoured and vegetable-flavoured Graceful Meal, together with a bowl of congee or soft rice, contain enough nutrients an elderly needs in a meal.

Graceful Meal is ready to eat after eight hours of defrosting and twenty-five minutes of steaming. It saves a caregiver’s time and reduces her stress preparing a meal.
