A steering committee set up to introduce HKSKH Church Policy Paper
Publish Date: 28-Jun-2017
The Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Church Policy Paper was passed in the Seventh General Synod in June 2016. The Policy Paper expounds on the purpose of the church’s existence and its mission, and the traits of a faith community that inherits the Anglican tradition. The Policy Paper reviews the various ways in which the church has sought to fulfill her mission, including evangelism, spiritual nurturing, bearing witness in unity, and responding to the many social issues in Hong Kong and Macau. It also summarises the expectations of the clergy and the laity. The aim of the policy paper is to formulate the church’s mission and steer the church’s development so that the church, existing with and for Hong Kong and Macau, can strengthen her members’ lives and become a community of disciples. In order to implement the policies, Archbishop Paul Kwong has appointed Bishop Andrew Chan to chair the Steering Committee and Dean Samson Fan to serve as the committee’s executive secretary. The committee consists of three working groups: the Working Group for Publicity led by Dean Matthias Der, the Working Group for Discipleship Training led by Dean Samson Fan, and the Working Group for Dialogue led by Fr Kwok-keung Chan.
