A thanksgiving service for St Timothy’s Church’s 25th anniversary was celebrated on 8 July. The occasion also marked the mission church’s elevation to the status of a parish. Set up in 1992, the church is in the compounds of SKH Lui Ming Choi Secondary School and ministers to the residents in the area of southern Hong Kong Island, which encompasses Pokfulam, Chi Fu, Wah Fu, Wah Kwai, Tin Wan, Aberdeen, Shek Pai Wan, Wong Chuk Hang, and Ap Lei Chau.

Archbishop Paul Kwong presided over the service and preached the sermon. He stressed that the role of a parish was to serve, shoulder responsibilities and spread the faith. Members of the parish should develop their ministries based on cooperation and mutual respect, a willingness to bear burdens and a united purpose.
