Tsoi Kung Po Secondary School teaches students to cherish school furniture

Publish Date: 31-Jul-2017

To cultivate a sense of responsibility and to teach students to cherish school furniture, Tsoi Kung Po Secondary School implemented a simple but innovative policy three years ago. Each student is assigned a desk and a chair for use throughout the duration of his or her years at the school. The furniture will follow the student as he or she moves up the school years.

In the post-exam period before the summer vacation, students carry their own desks and chairs to their new classrooms in the following year. To foster a sense of belonging, students are also to participate in the school cleaning day. At first, students only cleaned their own classrooms, but as the project expands, students are assigned to clean classrooms used by the whole school and the sports ground.

The school’s social worker is impressed by the positive attitude of the students on cleaning day and recommends other schools to follow Tsoi Kung Po’s example.
