Church takes part in Macau’s recovery after Typhoon Hato

Hong Kong and Macau hoisted the No. 10 typhoon signal as Hato hit South China on 23 August. Macau was devastated. At least eight were killed, and many more were injured. Sheng Kung Hui churches and social service units across the Missionary Area of Macau were quick to provide emergency assistance to the affected. Archbishop Paul Kwong, who is also the bishop of the Missionary Area of Macau, expressed grief for the dead and concern for the affected. He called for prayers for the victims and their families, and he prayed that the citizens could resume their normal lives as soon as possible. He expressed sincere gratitude to the churches, schools, and social service units for assisting the residents.
