Church of Ascension celebrates twentieth anniversary
Publish Date: 26-Oct-2017
Church of the Ascension celebrated its twentieth anniversary on 17 September with a thanksgiving service. Archbishop Paul Kwong presided over the service and delivered the homily. Two hundred parishioners, school staff, and workers in social service units with the parish’s periphery attended the service. As witness to the growth of the church in the past twenty years, they praised the Lord for the graces He bestowed. In the homily, Archbishop Kwong stressed that the church was neither a club that provided services only to its members nor an organization whose sole aim was the provision of social service. The church was a community of disciples chosen by God, a community that worshiped God, and a community that went outside the church building to spread the gospel and serve others.
