Welfare Council promotes stroke prevention in carnival

Publish Date: 14-Nov-2017

On 28 October, one day before World Stroke Day, a carnival was held at Plaza Hollywood in Diamond Hill to promote stroke prevention and to raise funds for the patients. The event was jointly organized by HKSKH Welfare Council, Sheng Kung Hui Stroke Rehabilitation Charity Fund, and Beijing Tong Ren Tang.

The Welfare Council has been operating a one-stop transitional stroke rehabilitation service for over ten years. It provides inpatient therapy during the golden rehabilitation period, i.e., the first three to six months after the patients’ discharge from the hospital, and outpatient rehabilitation services for those in need.

The Stroke Rehabilitation Charity Fund was established in August 2015 to aid low-income stroke patients. The Welfare Council provides rehabilitation services for those discharged from the hospital so that they could have access to proper care during their golden period of rehabilitation.
