Publish Date: 23-Nov-2017
© Compass Rose Society Compass Rose Society held its board meeting and annual meeting in London 5-7 November. One of the key announcements this year was the creation of the Hong Kong branch of Compass Rose Society. The number of Hong Kong delegates attending the meeting was at record high. Dean Samson Fan, vice president of the society, and Mr David Tse, a board member, were joined by Dean Matthias Der, the Revd Jonathan Chee, the Revd Desmond Cox, and five lay members on the trip. The objectives of the Hong Kong division are to recruit new members into the Compass Rose Society, to facilitate communication between the main branch and local members in Hong Kong, to strengthen the fellowship among the Asian Anglican churches, and to create closer ties among the Compass Rose members in Asia. With Archbishop Paul Kwong’s consent and Compass Rose Society’s support, the Hong Kong Compass Rose Society is scheduled to be established on 14 January 2018. A special thanksgiving service will be held at 6 p.m. on the same day at St John’s Cathedral.
