Constitutional secretary joins elderly in K-pop dance
Publish Date: 20-Feb-2018
Mr Patrick Nip, secretary for constitutional and mainland affairs; Mr Li Tak-hong, chairman of Wong Tai Sin District Council; and Ms Annie Kong, district officer for Wong Tai Sin, visited HKSKH Wong Tai Sin District Elderly Community Centre on 25 January to learn about the services it offered. The delegates met with the elderly and the volunteers in the community to hear about their lives and their needs. The delegates surveyed many activities at the centre, and one of them was the K-pop dance class. The class was preparing for a show at the New Year’s Eve dinner celebrating the centre’s thirty years of service in Wong Tai Sin, and Mr Nip joined in the dancing impromptu. Mr Nip encouraged the elderly to open themselves to new experiences, and prove that popular culture, such as K-pop, is not a matter solely for the young.
