Bishop Timothy Kwok talks about bridging ministry at tea with youths
Publish Date: 09-Apr-2018
Bishop Timothy Kwok of Eastern Kowloon had tea with a group of young adults from his diocese on 10 February. Bishop Kwok called this gathering an opportunity to get to know the young parishioners from different parishes and learn about their ideas. Bishop Kwong described youth ministry at the Anglican Church as “bridging ministry”, because children feel disconnected with authority figures as they grow into young adults. This is an exploratory stage where the youths start to build their own values and their own perspectives of life. Bishop Kwok explained that instead of providing young people with answers, the youth ministers should become their companions and help them reconnect with the church.
