Christ’s Passion and resurrection commemorated across the province

Publish Date: 12-Apr-2018

According to Christian tradition, the Paschal Triduum starts with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Maundy Thursday, and reaches its summit with the Easter Vigil on the evening of Holy Saturday. Many parishes in Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui held Easter Vigil on 31 March and conducted baptism for catechumen during the service.

On Good Friday, St Matthias’ Church commemorated the Passion of Jesus Christ with a play after the Stations of the Cross. Through their roles, the young actors revealed all the excuses people came up with for letting Jesus die on the cross.

These excuses could have been made up by Jesus’ disciples in His time and became some of the inner thoughts we do not have the courage to face even now. This play inspired the congregation to ask themselves whether Jesus’ resurrection concerns us.
