Welfare Council’s We Love—Jockey Club Centre for Family Enhancement was
ceremonially opened on 23 March. The Jockey Club Charities Trust had sponsored
the Welfare Council with $13,000,000 in April 2016 to establish a centre that
provides training to preschool and primary school-aged children with special
education needs, and support to their parents. Among the officiating guests of honour were Ms Nancy Kwan, district social welfare officer of Yau Tsim Mong; Ms Jasmine Chung, charities manager of the Hong Kong Jockey Club; Mr Loewe Lee, a member of the executive committee of the Welfare Council; Archdeacon Mark Tang from the Holy Trinity Church; and the Chan family, representatives of the centre’s clients. Addressing the guests, Dr Jane Lee, director of the Welfare Council, said that she hoped governmental departments, schools, and organizations in the district would continue to support the centre as they offered more professional and relevant services.
