St James’ Settlement gives youngsters online help to plan lives

St James’ Settlement is putting together a one-stop platform for young people to plan their careers or further studies. The platform is sponsored by Hang Seng Bank and is expected to launch in 2019, serving ten thousand registered users in its first year of operation. The platform uses AI technology such as chatbots and data analytics to personalize career information for its users after they have taken simple aptitude tests. Users can also contact career mentors, join webiners, and receive online career counseling. If desired, users can also sign up for counseling offline to help themselves gain a deeper view of the career paths they are interested in pursuing.
