Youth leaders share experience at forum
Publish Date: 21-May-2018
The Youth Committee of the Diocese of Hong Kong Island organized a forum for heads of youth fellowships on 24 March. Members of the diocesan youth committee, youth leaders, and fellowship mentors across the diocese gathered at St John’s Cathedral to discuss challenges related to youth ministries and share with others the solutions to their problems at their parishes. The Archbishop of Hong Kong, Dr Paul Kwong, was at the forum as well to address the participants. In his speech, he stressed that “the best sort of education is family education. The Church itself being a family, the best and the most effective youth ministry is delivered when one generation after another keeping the next generation company as the young grow up. This is a long and arduous process, but watching the young people we have mentored growing up healthily in their parishes, and in turn, becoming youth leaders, brings a sense of irreplaceable satisfaction. This is not something hired evangelists can do in our stead!”
