Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui 20th anniversary concert coming this July

Publish Date: 15-Jun-2018

Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui is to put up a concert on 10 July at Hong Kong Cultural Centre as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations. Corresponding to the theme “Our Faith, Our Way”, the church proclaims her faith through music and actively responds to the Lord’s gifts by singing Him praises.

Mr Geoff Weaver, hymnologist and music director of the Lambeth Conference in 1998 and 2008, is invited to pick up his baton and conduct the provincial joint choir.

Hymns to be performed that evening include John Rutter’s Look at the World, John Stainer’s God So Loved the World and Light’s Glittering Morn Bedecks the Sky. Members of the audience are welcomed to join in singing Marching on Together towards the New Millennium, a hymn composed to celebrate the establishment of the province; Sheng Kung Hui Thy Church Divine, written especially for the 20th anniversary; and Prayer of St. Francis. Mr Weaver will also present the province with Te Deum to celebrate this special occasion.

Please refer to the concert’s poster at http://www.hkskh.org/uploads/echo/issues/Chinese/2205/HKSKH20_poster_A3_0530_op_new.pdf for more information.
