Remembering seafarers and their hardship on Sea Sunday
Publish Date: 12-Jul-2018
The Mission to Seafarers and the Hong Kong Christian Council have asked the faithful to remember seafarers who contribute to the life of modern society by enduring hardships at sea on the annual Sea Sunday. Falling on 8 July, this year’s Sea Sunday took abandonment as its theme. Sometimes when shipping companies run into trouble, seamen may be abandoned at foreign ports to fend for themselves without the means to return home and even basic nourishment. The Mission to Seafarers partners with people from all over the world to help seafarers stranded in foreign land return home. This Sea Sunday, the mission called for the faithful to pray, knit, be informed about their life-changing work and donate to their cause.
