Archbishop Demands the Central People’s Government to Confront Cross Removals in Zhejiang

An unprecedented wave of cross and church demolitions is surging in Zhejiang recently. It has stirred up furious reactions among Christians within and without Mainland China According to figures provided by Zhejiang Christian Council, over 1,200 churches have been affected since last year. Zhejiang authorities’ forcibly removing the crosses on top of church buildings while they do not present any apparent and immediate danger is indeed an act to destroy religious freedom and humiliate the Christian faith, said Archbishop Paul Kwong.
