1) Lord God, whose servant Basil proclaimed the mystery of your Word made flesh, to build up your Church in wisdom and strength: grant that we may rejoice in his presence among us, and so be brought with him to know the power of your unending love; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

2) O God, according to your will, some receive words of wisdom, others receive the language of knowledge and yet others receive constancy of faith, each receive their gifts through the same Holy Spirit: we praise you for the manifestation of your grace through your servant Basil, grant O Lord, that your Church may never lack such gifts of grace; we ask this through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever.
