Archbishop announces his retirement

At the Diocese of Hong Kong Island Standing Committee meeting on 30 July, Archbishop Paul Kwong of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, who is also the Bishop of Hong Kong Island, announced that he will retire on 1 January 2021, in accordance to the Constitution and Canons of the Province. The election of a Bishop Co-adjutor is set on 21 and 22 November this year. Archbishop Kwong calls for all faithful to pray for the elections and for the right person to lead the Diocese of Hong Kong Island.
