Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui ordained deacons and priests at St John’s Cathedral

The Diocese of Hong Kong Island and the Diocese of Western Kowloon jointly held an ordination service for four ordinands at St John’s Cathedral on 1 November. Archbishop Paul Kwong was the celebrant while the Revd Tsui Yuk Fan was the preacher. At the service, Mr Mathew Lee and Mr Kenneth Lo were ordinands for the order of the diaconate while the Revd Lorraine Choi and the Revd Jason Leung were ordinands for the order of priesthood.

In his sermon Fr Tsui said that he was ordained a deacon twenty-five years ago, and coincidentally, the same New Testament reading Romans 12:1-12 was used at his own ordination service.

In his twenty-five years of serving the church, he has been involved in different issues, engaged with different people and handled different expectations and demands. These encounters gave him a deeper understanding of the power and comfort that Romans 12:1-12 brings to him and he would like to offer it to encourage the ordinands.
