St James’ Settlement celebrates 70th anniversary

St James’ Settlement celebrated its 70th anniversary with a thanksgiving vesper on 7 November at St James’ Church. The occasion was also used to hold its 69th annual meeting. Archbishop Paul Kwong was the president of the service and preacher. He thanked God for blessing and guiding the social welfare organization in serving Hong Kong in the past seventy years. He also thanked all the directors and staff members who had served St James’ throughout these years. Under the leadership of the executive committee, the directors and staff had responded to the needs of people from all walks of life to help promote harmony and stability in Hong Kong. In the past seventy years, St James’ Settlement was the pioneer in providing many new services to people in need. With a short film, the organization introduced the three directions that St James’ was going to develop in the future: 1. The ageing population and continued care. 2. Physical and mental health 3. Connecting communities and using information technology to showcase St James’ new developments.
