Publish Date: 23-Dec-2019
The Colloquium of Six Religious Leaders of Hong Kong held an annual meeting on exchanging thoughts at Wong Tai Sin Sik Sik Yuen on 7 December. The theme of this year’s meeting was “How faith helps people deal with emotional distress”. The participants shared views on how to help members of the public live through personal emotional distress caused by current social events. Concluding the meeting, the Rev Edward Chau, Director of Philosophy Division at the Holy Spirit Seminary College of Theology and Philosophy and editor of the book How Religion Helps People Deal with Emotional Distress, pointed out that the six religions believe that true peace and fellowship can only be achieved through mutual trust and exchanges between humankind and between religions. Peace can only be achieved in human society if everyone is determined to respect one another, the right of existence of all people, property rights, and the dignity of all peoples, countries and families, plus the practice of love in giving alms and in promoting the spirit of mutual assistance and love in daily life.
