The Churches of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui celebrated Christmas Eve with evensong, Christingle services, and Midnight Masses. In St Matthias Church young parishioners performed a play called “The Kingmaker” to celebrate Christmas Eve. The play is about the choice made by King Herod to usurp his brother’s throne, and the decisions the people around him made in response to the coup. The lesson of the play was to engage the audiences to reflect upon the choices they have made in their lives, and how they could be in line with the will of God. As we strive to control our destinies, who is the one who dictates everything? Who is the true king? The production team hoped that the audiences could experience, and feel that God is with them.
