Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Christians around the world observe the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity between 18 to 25 January. This year, the Christian churches in Malta and Gozo prepared liturgical materials with the theme “They Showed Us Unusual Kindness” (Acts 28:2).

Church Unity and Relations Committee of Hong Kong Christian Council and the Diocesan Ecumenical Commission of the Hong Kong Catholic Church organized an Ecumenical Prayer Meeting at the Chinese Rhenish Church on 18 January, where some 150 Christians and clerics from different denominations attended.

Christians in Malta celebrate the Feast of the Shipwreck of St Paul on 10 February to mark and give thanks for the arrival of Christian faith on these islands. This year, the prayers and reflections focused on the hospitality the people of Malta showed to the shipwrecked travellers.
