Church of St John the Baptist celebrates 20th anniversary

The Church of St John the Baptist celebrated its twentieth anniversary with a thanksgiving service on 11 January. The Rt Revd Timothy Kwok, Bishop of Eastern Kowloon, officiated at the service and the Rt Revd Andrew Chan, Bishop of Western Kowloon, was the preacher.

At the beginning of the service, Bishop Kwok told the congregation that the church has seen the Lord’s Grace in the past twenty years and will continue to see it in the future. The population of Cheung Kwan O district is increasing, he said, and so there would be more people to serve. The church is setting up a spiritual retreat centre in response to future needs. Bishop Kwok hoped that the church will continue to be blessed and protected by God in the future.
