St Joseph’s Church collects face masks for vulnerable community
Publish Date: 19-May-2020
During the pandemic, St Joseph’s Church’s social service centre turned into a temporary factory to produce cloth covers for face masks. At the beginning of the pandemic outbreak, face masks were in severe shortage. In order to lend a hand to grassroots families and the vulnerable community, Ms Kwok Ho-ching, manager of St Joseph’s social service centre came up with an idea that people with spare face masks could bring them to the centre and exchange every five of the face mask for two cloth mask covers. The centre then distributed the exchanged face masks to low-income families, residents of subdivided flats, and disabled persons.
