Serving the Church through the pandemic

Publish Date: 23-Jun-2020

The Diocese of Hong Kong Island’s Committee on Information and Communication organized a series of internet meetings on “Serving during the pandemic” starting on 31 May. Invited clerics and church staff talked about their experiences of holding online worships, Sunday schools, and fellowship activities. It was hoped that through sharing their experiences, the church staff would offer mutual support to each other.

The first session on 31 May, which was hosted by the Revd Vincent Chan, vicar of St Mattias’ Church, talked about how he held services over the internet during the pandemic, his and his colleague’s struggles and how they overcame their obstacles.

On 7 June, the Revd Franklin Lee, one of the chaplains of St John’s Cathedral, and his colleague Mr Alan Lee shared their experience of conducting Sunday School at St John’s Cathedral and running other children ministry online.
