Parishioners of Diocese of Easter Kowloon share experiences on family ministries

Publish Date: 29-Jul-2020

Due to the spike of new COVID-19 cases, many church activities were forced to cancel or postpone. The Diocese of Eastern Kowloon held a sharing session on family ministries on 11 July just days before the government tightened its disease prevention measures. Participants in the sharing session were mainly made up by clerics and parishioners involved in family and married couples ministries. They compared their experiences in and notes on related pastoral work with a view to learning about the diocese’s vision of the ministries.

The session was conducted by Mr and Mrs Liu Man-kwong, who are leaders of the married couples’ ministry at Holy Spirit Church. Some forty people from six parishes took part in the session. After the sharing session, the participants split into small groups to discuss about family ministries at their own churches.

During the session, the Rt Revd Timothy Kwok, Bishop of Eastern Kowloon, gave details about the strategic position of family ministries in the pastoral work of the diocese and encouraged the participants to be involved in the ministries.
