Welfare Council raises stroke awareness in partnership with Chinese medicine company

Publish Date: 06-Nov-2018

HKSKH Welfare Council has been running a stroke awareness event every year since 2017 with the support of the Chinese medicine company Beijing Tong Ren Tang. This year, they organized a new string of innovative community education activities to spread the knowledge on stroke prevention and raise awareness of the stroke survivors’ needs.

This year’s activities included an interactive exhibition held on 27 and 28 October, at the Tseung Kwan O shopping mall Popcorn, and the Walk with Heart, Walk with Love event at the promenade at the West Kowloon Cultural District. Twenty stroke patients, their family and friends, and three hundred people gathered at the waterfront for a 1.3 km walk.

Beijing Tong Ren Tang gifted the Welfare Council with stroke prevention products and a $500,000 donation, so that the SKH Stroke Rehabilitation Charity Fund could continue to help low-income patients gain access to treatment.
