Publish Date: 14-Dec-2018
The Rt Revd Andrew Chan, chairman of the Anglican (Hong Kong) Primary Schools Council; Prof. Frederick Leung, chairman of the Anglican (Hong Kong) Secondary Schools Council; and the Revd Canon Peter Koon, provincial secretary general of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, led a delegation of forty primary and secondary school principals to Shanghai in early December. On 3 December, the delegates met with the Revd Xu Xiaohong, the newly elected chairman of the National Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China. Bishop Chan said that the aim of this trip was to visit the two official Protestant organizations in China and the churches and schools with an Anglican background in Shanghai. He stressed that he had never forgotten the close ties Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui shared with churches in the mainland and hoped to continue strengthening cooperation and exchanges with them to maintain warm friendship.
