St Clement’s urged to pursue knowledge at golden jubilee celebrations

Publish Date: 22-Feb-2019

St Clement's Primary School celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a thanksgiving service and a variety show at the Tsuen Wan Town Hall on 22 January.

The Rt Revd Andrew Chan, bishop of Western Kowloon, officiated at the service and preached the sermon, which he began by giving thanks to the Lord for guiding the school over the years.

Bishop Chan then introduced to the congregation the teachings of St Clement, a Greek saint born in ad 150. He was a knowledgeable and humble theologian who thought ignorance and folly were the greatest sin in the world, because ignorance bred folly. To remedy this, a person needed to have knowledge and the ability to think.

With a humble heart, St Clement’s Primary School, like its patron saint, passed on true knowledge to the young, so that the society could eradicate ignorance and folly.
