St Titus’ Church becomes a parish

Publish Date: 04-Mar-2019

St Titus’ Church, located in the Diocese of Eastern Kowloon, celebrated her elevation to the status of a parish with a thanksgiving service on 26 January. The Bishop of Eastern Kowloon, the Rt Revd Dr Timothy Kwok, presided over the service while the Archbishop of Hong Kong, the Most Revd Dr Paul Kwong, preached the sermon and imparted the final blessing.

In the sermon, Archbishop Kwong reminded the congregation that a church was not merely a road sign pointing people towards catechesis and bible classes. Her most important role was to manifest the love of God in the community. St Titus’ Church must attain God’s love and blessings before it could make this love accessible to the people. All faith communities bestowed with the love and blessings of the Lord must have a vision and a sense of responsibility.
