The Revd Canon Loong Gon passes away on 21 July

93-year-old Revd Canon Loong Gon, who served in Hong Kong, Macau and New Zealand, passed away on the morning of 21 July. His funeral service was held at the Wellington Cathedral in New Zealand on 26 July.

Archbishop Paul Kwong of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui expressed his deep condolences to Canon Loong’s family. He said that Canon Loong is a hardworking servant of the church who involved himself personally in all tasks. Archbishop Kwong praised Canon Loong as a visionary pastor who rebuilt old churches and founded and developed new churches. Moreover, Archbishop Kwong said that Canon Loong devoted his life to serve God. He prayed for Canon Loong’s peaceful rest in God’s arms and God’s comfort to Canon Loong’s wife and family.
