Collect   1) Creator and Father of eternity, whose martyr Clement bore witness with his blood
to the love he proclaimed and the gospel that he preached: Give us thankful hearts as we celebrate your faithfulness, revealed to us in the lives of your saints, and strengthen us in our pilgrimage as we follow your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
[OR]
2) Almighty God, you have given extraordinary courage to your servant Clement, that he was able to stand before the powerful and mighty of this world and fearlessly confessed the holy name of our Saviour Jesus Christ. He steadfastly kept the faith passed down by the Apostles, and calmly died a martyr’s death: prepare us O Lord, that we may confess our faith and hope at any time, and be willing to suffer indignation and adversity for the sake of our Lord; we ask this through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
[OR]
3) Almighty God, your blessed servant Clement relied on your grace and strength and triumphed over all suffering, he had sacrificed his life to uphold the true faith: we now come before you in gratitude to commemorate him: give us grace O Lord, that we may witness the Lord faithfully all the days of our life, and stand beside him to receive the crown of life; we ask this through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
[OR]
4) Almighty and everlasting God, you have ignited the fire of love in the heart of the martyred Clement: we are your humble servants, grant O Lord, that as we celebrate his victory, we may revere their pious deeds and receive countless gifts of grace; we ask this through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
