Dean Samson Fan installed as Canon Theologian of Southwark Cathedral

Dean Samson Fan was installed as Canon Theologian by Christopher Chessun, the bishop of Southwark, on 12 November. The installation was part of an evening prayer at Southwark Cathedral. To promote a diverse development of biblical studies and theological exploration, the diocese of Southwark had decided to conduct a five-year experiment with clerics from around the world. The diocese had been seeking suitable people from the different provinces in the Anglican Communion since 2016 to engage in the process. In October last year, Bishop Chessun wrote to Dean Fan inviting him to accept the honour of being Southwark Cathedral’s canon theologian. With approval from Archbishop Paul Kwong and Bishop Andrew Chan, Dean Fan accepted the offer.
