Publish Date: 27-Nov-2017
HKSKH Good Shepherd Home for the Elderly organized a gala dinner on 14 October to celebrate its thirtieth anniversary. The officiating guests of honour were Ms Ip Siu-ming, the district social welfare officer of Kwun Tong, Dr Jane Lee, the director of HKSKH Welfare Council, and Mr Lo Kin-ming, an executive committee member of the Welfare Council. In her speech, Ms Ip praised the Welfare Council for the quality services at its nursing homes. She hoped that all staff members at Good Shepherd Home for the Elderly could implement the elderly service policies as a team and continue to provide quality services to the home’s residents. Mr Lo said in his speech that when the Good Shepherd Home of the Elderly was set up places were available to those who could cook by themselves and to those who needed catering. Throughout the years, services have transformed to provide long-term care for the infirm. Located within the parish of St Barnabas’, the home cooperates with St Barnabas’ Church as well as the schools and social service units in Kwun Tong to provide comprehensive care for the residents’ spiritual need.
