Youth ministry leaders share experiences

Twenty youth
ministers and leaders of youth ministry in their own parishes in the Diocese of
Eastern Kowloon met on 12 January. Organized by the diocese’s youth committee,
the meeting was an opportunity for the leaders to share experiences and discuss
current developments and future plans. The Revd Simon Tang, head of the diocese’s youth committee, chaired the meeting, and Ms Siu Ming-wai, the social worker responsible for the Act of Love, was present to see how churches and social service units could achieve better coordination. The lack of leaders for fellowship groups was a problem all churches reported facing. The Revd Lee Yiu-keung reminded the attendees that they should not neglect to equip themselves because they were too busy with organizing activities. The faithful needed to brush up on their evangelizing skills so that they could share their witness with others. Fr Lee stressed that one would serve with most vigour if he had a specific target in mind.
