Amity Walk for Living Water 2018

Over 600
volunteers and participants from schools, churches, and businesses all over
Hong Kong joined the Amity Walk for Living Water, held on 5 May. The Amity Foundation
and the Water Supplies Department had jointly organized this
fundraiser to build a solar-powered bathroom at a primary boarding school in
Qinghai, improve their water and hygiene facilities, and raise public awareness for water conservation. Participants took a 3.6 km route along the Ma On Shan Promenade, starting from SKH Ma On Shan Holy Spirit Primary School, while carrying a load on their shoulders. This year, instead of carrying bottled water in their buckets, participants carried bags of rice. After the walk, the rice was donated to the HKSKH Welfare Council to help local families in need.
