Ebenezer School stages thanksgiving concert at St Paul’s Church

Publish Date: 28-Jun-2018

The Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired staged the Beyond Sight Thanksgiving Concert at St Paul’s Church on 9 June as part of its 120th anniversary celebrations. The Ebenezer school choir and Noir Music, an ensemble that consisted of Ebenezer alumni and visually abled people, sang a number of hymns. Three Ebenezer students played a six-hand version of Carmen Overture on the piano, and an erhu player performed the Butterfly Lovers with a pianist, and singers sang duets. Three solo singers also awed the audience with their gifts in music.

As co-organizer, St Paul’s Church not only provided the venue, the funding, and the support in organizing the concert, but also participated in the performances. The church choir and the students of St Paul Church’s Kindergarten took part in singing hymns. Wrapping up the evening, the audience joined the performers in singing a medley that merged Open the Eyes of My Heart and You Raise Me Up.

Dr Alice Yuk, Ebenezer’s CEO, thanked the audience for their support, and expressed gratitude to God for opening the eyes of the audience’s hearts to the fact that the visually impaired and the visually abled could stage a concert together to sing praises to the Lord.
