1) Almighty Father, lover of souls, who chose your servant Nicholas to be a bishop in the Church, that he might give freely out of the treasures of your grace: Make us mindful of the needs of others and, as we have received, so teach us also to give; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

2) Almighty and everlasting God, we give you thanks for calling your servant Nicholas to spread the gospel of Christ: encourage the hearts and minds of Christians all over the world to join the ranks of missionaries, that they may spread the gospel and announce the coming of the heavenly kingdom; and that the Church may proclaim to the world that the whole fullness of God the Father dwells bodily in our Saviour Jesus Christ: we ask this through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.

3) Almighty God, it is your will to show forth your glory through the lives of saints, you have roused your servant Nicholas to be a light to the world: shine your light upon our hearts O Lord, so that in our lifetime we may praise and proclaim your amazing deed of calling us from darkness into wondrous light; we ask this through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
